Beauty Parlor of Prayer
Warning! Politically incorrect sermons ahead. We have reached a part of 1 Timothy that is quite troublesome to our culture as we start to deal with the roles of men and women in worship. This week we see two corrections Paul gives from 1 Timothy 2:8-10. One correction is to men who pray and are given to anger and argument. Rather men are to pray with peace and humility. The second correction is to women who are more focused on their outward looks at the expense of their inward beauty. The church is not to be a place of quarreling and showiness, but a prayerful beauty parlor concerned with good works. As we begin to deal biblically with these issues I invite you out to Good Shepherd OPC, aka Prayerful Beauty Parlor Presbyterian Church, as we learn what the Lord requires of us and how he has already provided for our redemption in Jesus Christ.
