CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

In the absolute beginning of Genesis 1:1…

God created heaven as a royal temple, indwelled by the glory of the Holy Spirit, filled with angels devoted to his endless worship and service, and sanctified as the place of worship and beatitude.

The Scriptures also refer to that heavenly temple dwelling as a mountain where the glory and throne of the triune God in Christ dwells forever.

In the absolute beginning of Genesis 1:1…

Mount Eden (Ez. 28:13-15), Mount Ararat (Gen. 6-8; II Pet. 3:5-7), Mount Moriah (Gen. 22), Mount Sinai (Ex. 24), and earthly Mount Zion (II Sam. 5:7) are shadows and types of that abiding heavenly mountain dwelling of the triune God – holy places that were set apart for the worship and adoration of the glory of God (Heb. 12:22-24).

These lectures will survey the way these earthly mountains in the Old Testament that lead us to the heavenly mountain that Jesus Christ has ascended–the place of endless delight and eternal rest for the church that is filled with the glory of the ascended Christ.

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
— Hebrews 12:22-24 (ESV)
