Our Wonderful Privilege—Worship

Jesus Christ, whose name is called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, of the increase of whose government and peace there shall be no end, lives and reigns with the Father and Holy Spirit. Our Lord and Savior, who has all power given unto Him in heaven and on earth by the Father, commissioned His church to make disciples of all the nations.

Our Lord Jesus Christ has been raised from the dead and is seated at the Father’s right hand, far above all principality and power, and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world but also in that which is to come. He is worthy of all majesty and devotion!

Because He is Lord and all things are under His feet, He is the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of Him that fills all in all; and He being ascended far above all heavens, fills all things. For glory of God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit draw, gather, receive, and bless the gifts of the church—men, women, and children—for equipping and service in order to carry out faithful worship, edification, and witness.

In our worship through the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, we gather to offer praise, adoration, confession, blessing, faith and service, giving thanks with gladness of heart for the Father’s saving work and providential power in His Son, who is made known by the means of grace: in the reading and preaching of His Word, in prayer, and by the administration of His ordinances, baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
