It was not without cause that our Lord himself, when he would engage more earnestly in prayer, withdrew into a retired spot beyond the bustle of the world, thus reminding us by his example that we are not to neglect those helps which enable the mind, in itself too much disposed to wander, to become sincerely intent on prayer. (Book III.20.29)

Men’s Discipleship

You are cordially invited to join the men’s discipleship reading and discussion class on Saturday mornings at the Kids R Kids Academy at 8202 Homeward Way, Sugar Land, Texas 77479. The men meet at 9:00 am every Saturday.

The men are currently discussing the topic of prayer. It’s the reading and discussion of John Calvin’s Institutes of the Christian Religion. It’s a study of Book III, Chapter 20. You can access this section of Calvin here: https://www.ccel.org/ccel/calvin/institutes.v.xxi.html

The discussion is led and then we think about questions and points for learning. It’s good and helpful. We have prayer too.

Usually, at this men’s time, there’s finger food and coffee. The time goes for about 1 hour. There’s no charge. Around 10-12 men join in. And they range from ages 18-80. Please feel free to come. And you’re welcome to invite a friend.
